Utility Valve Exerciser & Hydro Vacuum Excavator Video (Old Version)
Posted on 30. Jun, 2015 by Michael Le-Roy in Vacuum Excavators
The Incline-Vac, utility valve exerciser and hydro vacuum excavator demonstrates how easy it is to access in ground utility valves and to test utility valve operation. The hydro vacuum excavation system is used to clean valve boxes and to clean meter boxes. This vacuum trailer is used by water utilities, gas utilities and hydro vacuum oil field contractors. After gaining access to the utility valve stem a hydraulic torque wrench mounted on a powered 12 foot reach, articulated boom arm, is attached to the in ground utility valve stem by using a telescoping extension rod. The hydraulic driven torque wrench opens and closes the valve thus exercising the utility valves while simultaneously counting the revolutions and graphing the torque required for each revolution.
A monitoring and data logging system uses GPS ( global positioning system ) to document the elevation, latitude and longitude location of the utility valve and makes the data available to the water departments GIS mapping system. The monitoring and data logging system also used RFID ( radio frequency identification ) to log in the operators name and credentials along with documenting date and time valve testing started and ended. Valve operating condition and performance is graphed and documented.
